Cosman S.r.l. supplies its customers with finished and painted carpentry ready to be placed on the assembly line. Where required, the company can also activate lines for the complete assembly and testing of the machines that can be shipped directly to the final customer.
On the strength of its extensive experience, gained over decades, Cosman S.r.l. is able to build, in series, structural components for industrial machines such as: aerial lifts, telescopic lifts, off-road cranes, cranes on trucks, electric cranes, construction cranes; special lifting equipment, congested undercarriages, agricultural machines, etc.
In addition to industrial machines, Cosman develops and manufactures complex carpentry structures on order, intended for civil works and industrial plants in general. In particular, Cosman serially manufactures hot storage plants for asphalt mixes for a leading customer in the market.
Origins
The bond between our family and “iron,” the noblest of metals , has its roots in time.
Documents dating back as early as the 1700s attest to the family’s role as Fabbri Ferrai and Maniscalchi, at the court of the Marchesi Florenzi, regents of the Colombella estate and surrounding areas at that time.
This role and this activity continued over time, without interruption, and remained unchanged, for centuries, in a protected, crystallized rural dimension, far removed from the momentous changes taking place in the world.
Some hints of modernization and progress arrive during the first half of the 1900s, between the two world wars, with the first mechanical means but above all with a slowly evolving national situation and the formation of the first industrial centers around the large cities.
1950s
World War II brought with it great upheaval and, subsequently, great misery. The business in these years is carried anvati by Francesco Mannocci, and his three young sons Otello, Anacleto and Giampiero. In 1946, at the age of 20, Anacleto, emigrated to France in search of better living conditions and found employment there in a metalworking company, thus continuing, with satisfaction, to do his job as a “blacksmith.” Meanwhile, his father Francesco and siblings carry on family activities in Italy. After 9 years, in 1955, Anacleto returns home. Conditions meanwhile in Italy have improved, and possibilities for development and growth are on the horizon. Together the three brothers build a new small workshop, a hundred meters away from the family’s historic one.
1960s
The economic boom years arrived, and in Italy there was a need to build everything, starting with warehouses, which would be the home of new industries. The company specializes in the production of tie rods, a key element of the vaulted warehouses typical of the time. The company “F.lli O.A.G. Mannocci s.n.c.” is created. The small workshop is no longer enough and construction of the first factory is started. On the outskirts of the village of Colombella.
In the 1960s, the Italian agricultural sector changes radically, sharecropping ends, and the agricultural industry takes the place of the large landowners and latifundia. Mechanization replaces the work of animals and people. The old granaries are no longer suitable for holding wheat, barley and other fruits of the fields, just as the old stone millstones moved by river water are unsuitable. The company in these years specialized in the construction of grain storage and processing facilities, such as silos and mills.
1970s
Building on the experience gained in the construction of agribusiness plants, the company gradually expanded to other sectors of the nascent Italian industry. Especially to the cement industry.
During the 1970s the company grows and acquires more and more experience and production capacity. Orders increase and are more and more important. More space is needed. The Colombella plant is more than doubled, but it is still not enough.
The company looks far ahead and needs space to grow. A large plot of land in the new Pieve Pagliaccia industrial area, less than a kilometer away, is purchased and construction of a large new plant is started. A new company is also founded, with a corporate structure more suited to the size achieved, MANNOCCI srl, which later became COSMAN srl. The name is the result of the contraction of Costruzioni Mannocci.
1980s
The 1980′s began and the company proceeded on its path with great momentum. MANNOCCI has become a nationally known name in the field of industrial plants.
The piccona company of the 1950s has transformed into a structured company, equipped with a state-of-the-art technical department that designs and manages the realization of plants of primary importance at the national level, a commercial structure and participates in the most important trade fairs in the sector.
1990s
In the 1990s, European and global socio-economic changes, along with socio-political upheavals in Italy, negatively impacted the national industrial system, causing a setback in the construction of large industrial plants. The business group faced a severe crisis and underwent a major restructuring, changing corporate governance with Emilio Rosi and Carlo Mannocci at the helm.
“F.lli O.A.G. Mannocci” and “Mecman” were divested, concentrating activities on COSMAN, in the Pieve Pagliaccia plant.
Cosman collected and maintained the know-how and tradition in the production of industrial equipment of “F.lli O.A.G. Mannocci” and in the production of lifting equipment of “Mecman,” also focusing on the mass production of components for industrial machinery for national and international customers.
2000s
The 2000s witnessed the consecration of the company in the field of industrial machinery manufacturing, in fact, on the strength of its capacity, efficiency and production quality, Cosman S.r.l. was able to attract as customers large manufacturers worldwide of various kinds of industrial machinery who rely on it for the construction of their machines. In this way, Cosman S.r.l. has expanded its market to a European and world level.
To this day, the production of components for industrial machinery is the company’s core business.
During these years two new business units come into being, TECNOMAT S.r.l. and TECNIPA S.r.l., specializing is specific segments of the production process or in specific product lines that together with COSMAN S.r.l. form a strong and complete group. At the same time the production site is being expanded and modernized. This process of expansion is still ongoing. The company consolidates, invests, builds. With passion and with confidence, with memory in the past and eyes in the future.
